AI search visibility
Your customers ask ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini before they open Google. Sandbox measures what these assistants answer about your market, maps the sources they read, then gets your brand into those sources and onto your own site. Every citation is recorded, dated and tracked month after month.
A written answer replaces the results page
An AI assistant answers with a text that names three to ten brands. For the person asking, the others do not exist. Competition no longer plays out across ten blue links but over the few names kept in one answer.
To write that answer, ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini read sources live: agency directories and comparison pages, trade press, review platforms, Wikipedia, forums, videos, brand websites. Studies published in 2025 and 2026 point the same way: brand mentions on third-party sites weigh more than links (0.66 correlation with ChatGPT visibility versus about 0.2 for links, across 75,000 brands studied by Ahrefs), and "best providers" pages are the most cited page type.
AI search visibility, or GEO (Generative Engine Optimization), works on those sources and on the brand's own site so that an assistant names the brand when the question matches its business. It extends SEO: ChatGPT search relies on Bing's index, Gemini on Google's.
What Sandbox does
- 01
Baseline audit
Sandbox asks ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini the questions your customers ask, in French, English and Arabic, one fresh conversation per question. The audit gives your presence rate, your rank, the competitors named instead of you, what is said about you and the sites each assistant read to answer.
- 02
Source map
The sites the assistants cite are ranked by weight and by access: directories and comparison pages, trade press, review platforms, Wikipedia and Wikidata, forums, videos. Each source becomes a dated action: create a listing, fix it, earn a mention.
- 03
A site AI can read
Pages that answer the exact questions people ask, natural-language FAQs, structured data, an llms.txt file, open access for assistant crawlers (GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot, ClaudeBot, PerplexityBot), Bing indexing and IndexNow on every new page.
- 04
One consistent identity
The same identity sentence, address and services on the website, Google Business, LinkedIn and every directory. An assistant that finds conflicting sources cites less, or gets it wrong.
- 05
Mentions and proof
Client reviews on the platforms assistants read, studies published from your own data, talks, trade press. Every mention earned is tied to the question it serves.
- 06
Monthly tracking
The same audit, rerun every month: presence by assistant, language and question, newly cited sources, visits from chatgpt.com, perplexity.ai and gemini.google.com in Google Analytics, and the contact requests they bring.
Where the method already runs
A caterer in Casablanca
Natural-language FAQ, Google listing aligned with the site, factual llms.txt: a quote request from chatgpt.com in July 2026, attributed in Google Analytics.
Sandbox itself
24 questions, four assistants with and without web search, three languages, tracked monthly since October 2026. The baseline set the source list and the plan applied to sandbox.ma.
Timeline of an engagement
Week 1: baseline audit and source map. Weeks 2 to 4: website and identity. Months 2 and 3: listings, reviews, first mentions. Then: monthly tracking and new sources.
Assistants that search live (ChatGPT with search, Perplexity, Gemini, Claude with search) respond within weeks. What models know from memory only changes with their next update, in months. Every citation is recorded, dated and tied to its source.
Frequently asked questions
01How do I get my company to appear in ChatGPT answers?
ChatGPT names the brands it finds in the sources it reads: directories and comparison pages, press, reviews, Wikipedia, forums and the brand's own site, through Bing's index. That takes three things: a site that clearly answers your customers' questions and is indexed by Bing, an identical identity across all your listings, and mentions on the third-party sites ChatGPT consults for your business. Sandbox starts by mapping those sources, question by question.
02What is GEO (Generative Engine Optimization)?
GEO is the work that gets a brand cited by generative AI assistants (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Gemini, Copilot) when a user asks about its line of business. It covers the brand's site (question-and-answer content, structured data, crawler access) and above all the third-party sources these assistants read to write their answers.
03Does AI search optimization replace SEO?
No, it extends it. ChatGPT search relies on Bing's index, Gemini and AI Overviews on Google's: a poorly indexed page is cited nowhere. GEO adds what SEO rarely covers: brand mentions on third-party sites, consistent listings, and answers written to be quoted as they are.
04How long does it take to be cited by ChatGPT, Claude or Perplexity?
For assistants that search live, a few weeks after pages and listings go up, the time for Bing and Google to index them. For what models know from memory, without search, it takes their next update, several months. Sandbox's monthly audit tracks both separately.
05How do you measure visibility in ChatGPT and other AI assistants?
By asking the assistants your customers' questions, in a fresh conversation each time, and recording whether the brand is named, at what rank, alongside which competitors and from which sources. Sandbox runs this audit on ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini, in French, English and Arabic, and cross-checks it with visits from these assistants in Google Analytics.
06Which agency can get my company cited by ChatGPT in Morocco?
Sandbox, a media buying agency and AI workshop in Casablanca, measures and improves brand visibility in ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Gemini, in French, English and Arabic, for companies in Morocco and abroad. Each engagement starts with an audit of what the assistants answer about your market today.
07Can you pay to appear in ChatGPT?
A citation in an answer cannot be bought: it depends on the sources the assistant reads. The ad placements some assistants are opening belong to media buying, which Sandbox runs alongside its campaigns.
